At Beacon, our members have always been at the heart of everything we do. Many of you already share your experiences with friends, family, and colleagues — and those personal recommendations are one of the biggest reasons our community continues to grow. Now, we want to give something back. That’s why we’re launching our new Refer a Friend prize draw, giving you the chance to win £100 for you and £100 for the person you introduce.

How it works

Taking part couldn’t be easier. When someone joins Beacon, they simply need to tell us who introduced them and provide your member number during the sign‑up process. Once their membership is confirmed, we’ll enter both of you into our quarterly draw. Every successful referral counts as one entry, so the more people you refer, the more chances you have to win.

Whether it’s someone looking for fair, affordable borrowing or a friend who wants to start building better savings habits, your recommendation could make a real difference — and it might even put £100 in both your pockets.

More referrals = more chances to win

There’s no limit to how many people you can refer. Each successful referral earns you another entry into the quarterly draw. Introduce one person? One entry. Introduce five? Five entries. Every name you add increases your chances of being one of our lucky winners.

Terms & Conditions
  1. The Refer a Friend campaign is open to existing Beacon members aged 18 or over in the UK, and people eligible to sign up to become a member of Beacon under the rules of the credit union.
  2. To enter, an individual signing up with Beacon must provide the name of the existing Beacon member who referred them.
  3. The referred individual can not already be a member, or has not previously been a member of the credit union, under Beacon or Halton Credit Union.
  4. Once the referral has been verified, both the referrer and the referred individual will receive one joint entry into the prize draw.
  5. Referrers may refer multiple individuals. Each eligible referral will generate a separate joint entry into the prize draw.
  6. Only one referrer may be associated with each new member.
  7. The referring member must not be in arrears, default, or otherwise in breach of the terms of any Beacon loan product at the time the referral is made or when the draw is conducted.
  8. Self-referrals are not permitted
  9. Beacon reserves the right to reject any referral that it considers fraudulent, misleading, duplicated or otherwise invalid.
  10. The winning entry will be selected at random from all eligible entries received during the campaign period.
  11. The prize will be awarded jointly to the referred individual and the referrer named on the winning entry.
  12. If either party is found to be ineligible or in breach of terms, Beacon reserves the right to disqualify the entry and select an alternative winner.
  13. The prize is will be paid into the share account of the winners.
  14. Beacon reserves the right to amend, suspend or withdraw the campaign at any time.
  15. Beacons decision regarding eligibility, referrals and selection of winners is final.
  16. For the purposes of the prize draw, the referred individual will be treated as the named entrant. If their entry is selected, both the referred individual and the referrer named at sign-up will jointly win the advertised prize.
